Warta-Polpharma
is back at sea
The Polish boat put back
to sea at 2.14 pm GMT from Wellington. |

Day
48 - Elena Caputo, “I have a feeling Xavier
may have packed more food than he declared”
“We have plenty of food
supplies for the rest of the trip. More than
enough actually.” |

 |
Not
the best weather conditions
The next 24 hours will
not see any fast sailing from the four
challengers currently at sea. |
 |
 |
Day
48 - “C’est la vie,” Dariusz Drapella gets
philosophical, but what’s that in French?
“On the way down Cook
Strait we didn’t have any wind, and we were
able to see the same rock for several hours.” |

Day
48, 7.00 am GMT : The quest for the Grail
Club Med is having a hard
time. With 20 knots of wind on the nose and
choppy, hazardous seas, the leader is tacking to
try to reach the southeast trades - the holy
Grail which will carry her off at a good speed
towards the equator and the Doldrums. |

Day
48, 4.00 am GMT - More haste, less speed
The tortoise or the hare? |

Backing
off in front, pressure in the rear
Saturday, February 17,
Day 48. 12.00 pm GMT
While the leading boat, Club Med, has to
reduce speed in heavy seas, Innovation Explorer
is closing the gap, and by heading east is at
the same time shortening her distance to the
finish. We won't have to wait more than a few
hours before one of these two makes a break.
Back at the rear, Wellington has proven an open
door for Tony, who has announced his decision
not to stop.
